Is Recovatron safe? Will it damage my drive?

Recovatron opens source drives in read-only mode. It never writes to the drive it scans. Recovered files are always saved to a different destination.

Why do I have to save recovered files to another disk?

Writing to the same disk you are recovering from can overwrite data you haven't recovered yet. Recovatron refuses this by default to protect your files.

macOS asks for Full Disk Access. What do I do?

Scanning a USB drive on macOS requires a one-time setup: tap "Set Up Access", enter your password, add Recovatron to Full Disk Access in System Settings, then restart the app. After that, scanning works in one click.

Windows denied access to a disk.

Some devices expose a raw path that requires elevation. Re-run Recovatron as Administrator, or pick the mounted volume instead of the whole-disk device.
